Little Things | Mailbox Dino

It has been a LONG time since a Little Things post has appeared on the blog.

Fall and winter were crazy busy for us and I had a hard time keeping up with blogging all of the things I was shooting, let alone anything extra.

Now things are slowing down a bit and there are so many fun projects I’m excited to have time for.

Getting back into posting Little Things is just one of them- just wait until you see all that I have planned!

Kicking off the 2012 edition of Little Things is Mailbox Dino.

He’s pretty ferocious, so perhaps MAILBOX DINO should be in all caps and bold.

Anyway, MAILBOX DINO lives on top of the mailbox of a house a few minutes away.

He lives on a road that I don’t drive on all the time, and sometimes I almost forget he exists.

Almost.

Then I find myself driving down his road, and BAM there is is, on top of the mailbox looking out upon his kingdom.

One part of the magic of MAILBOX DINO is just how random he is.

Seriously, who the heck puts a large dinosaur toy on top of their mailbox?

The other wonderful thing about him is the fact that he wears seasonally appropriate clothing.

Recently, at Christmas time, MAILBOX DINO was wearing a Santa hat.

Now that Christmas is over, he is wearing a winter hat and cape for warmth (totally necessary, since he’s cold blooded.)

Although Matthew occasionally drives down the road that MAILBOX DINO lives on too, he’d never noticed him.

So, the other day my path took me past the house, and I stopped my car in front of the house and took a picture with my phone.

I felt really strange slowing down in front of a stranger’s house to take a picture of their mailbox, but it had to be done.

Without further ado, I present to you MAILBOX DINO.

Seeing him when I’m driving always puts a smile on my face, and I hope this extremely weird blog post did the same for you 🙂
