Three years ago today I was nervously awaiting our trip to Atlanta for our weekend romantic getaway.
We were still in school in Macon at the time and Matthew had planned for us to stay at the Georgian Terrace for the weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
I thought he might use the time to propose, but after arriving at the hotel, getting ready, and finishing our fancy dinner, I was beginning to think it wasn’t going to happen.
Obviously, patience is not one of my strong suits.
After dinner Matthew took me up to the rooftop deck of the hotel where he had arranged for roses and champagne to be set up and he DID propose to me!
It was wonderful and I will never forget how incredibly happy I was at that moment.
It was definitely the most romantic Valentine’s Day ever, which is why we keep things low key these days.
I really like our tradition of staying home and Matthew cooking me a nice dinner for Valentine’s Day.
There’s no sense in trying to top the best Valentine’s day ever, and now we get to hang out at home with our other Valentine, who happens to have four legs 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day Matthew!!
I love you so much more today than I did three years ago and can’t wait to celebrate “our” holiday when you come home today!
Love Always,
B
