This weekend I visited the Style Sweet Event which was organized by Mia Johnson and hosted by her company P3-Lab. P3-Lab is a makeup studio that provides on location makeup and hair services for brides as well as film and editorial projects.

It was a delightful experience with tasty treats everywhere! The various vendors brought a variety of unique sweets designed to complement any wedding. Brides mingled and enjoyed sampling the desserts and were also treated to makeovers.

Right after I took the picture I ate the one on top.

It was white cake with hazelnut frosting. Yummy!

These bright bags of popcorn are from Magnolia’s Sweet Haven.

The blue is blue raspberry and the pink is strawberry.

I took a sampling of the blue raspberry with me on my way out and it was great!

These chocolate covered strawberries are also from Magnolia’s Sweet Haven

and are made with organic ingredients.

Like I need another excuse to eat chocolate??

Alisha + Brantley Engaged | Macon Engagement Photographer

Alisha and Brantley were the lucky couple that won our free wedding photography giveaway at the Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta back in January. They are the sweetest couple and they met at Mercer University, just like Matthew and I did. Because of their history with Mercer and my familiarity with the area, we decided to head to Macon for their engagement shoot this weekend.

Brantley played ball for Mercer so we started out on the baseball field and then wandered around campus. We finished up downtown for some edgier, more urban shots. I like the way the mixtures of pictures turned out and I hope you do too!

Congratulations you two! Can’t wait to see you again in June for the wedding!

Angela + Keenan | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Angela and Keenan got married last Thursday at the spectacular Atlanta Botanical Garden. It was a beautifully intimate affair with only family and very close friends in attendance and the weather was gorgeous. As you Atlanta residents know, we’ve been having quite the chilly winter and only two days before the wedding, it snowed. Although there was a touch of a chill in the air, it was sunny and refreshing and the bride and groom paid no mind to any bit of cold they might have felt. The ceremony took place in the fragrance garden and it fit everyone perfectly. Angela looked radiant as she said her vows to Keenan and afterwards we got to explore the gardens and take all kinds of pictures.

If having your wedding at the Botanical Gardens has ever crossed your mind…Do it! From a photographer’s point of view it is truly a dream location to shoot and from a bride’s point of view, you don’t have to spend much money decorating because Mother Nature has done it for you already!

Congratulations Angela and Keenan! I was honored to be part of your day and thank you so much for having me!

Meet the Mundens | West Palm Beach Child Photographer

It seems as though I’ve known these girls forever. The youngest was in diapers when I met her at the pool years ago while lifeguarding and now she’s almost done with elementary school. I was their babysitter, their friend, and their photographer. The last time I took their picture was over a year ago and they’ve grown up so much since then! I’ll pretend that they’re the only ones who are getting older for now.

We went to the Phipps Estate neighborhood in Palm Beach for some family portraits and had a blast. Even their dog Kevin joined in on the fun and got his picture taken!

Miss EB is the granddaughter of my mom’s friend and one of the spunkiest and cutest little ones you’ll ever meet. She loves to sing songs with her mom and will stop and pose like a model if you ask her to. While I was in town for Kristy and Carl’s wedding I got the chance to do some portraits as well. I love taking pictures of children because they’re always so happy and carefree. Miss EB was no exception.

We met up at Tiger Shark Cove and had a great time playing at the park. At one point EB led the charge of toddlers up to the top of the playground shouting Come on kids!! It was hysterical.

Kristy + Carl Part II: The Wedding | Palm Beach Wedding Photographer

Back in high school they were two grades apart. Kristy was the pretty and popular girl and Carl was the late blooming soccer player. They were in two separate worlds until their paths crossed years later at a friend’s wedding. They started chatting and that evening they shared their first kiss. The next day, while beaming, Carl recounted the moment to his friends.

My life’s dream has been accomplished. I kissed Kristy last night.

From then on things only got better for Carl as he and Kristy began to date. Eventually, he brought her home to meet his parents and have dinner.

At the rehearsal dinner his dad told the story:

Carl brought home this beautiful girl and then cornered me later in the evening to ask what I thought. I thought that she was wonderful, but I could see from the look in his eyes that it didn’t matter at all what we thought. He was crazy about her. We were thrilled.

Last weekend, the late blooming soccer player scored his biggest goal and married his lovely lady.

The ceremony was at the historic St. Ann’s Church on the intracoastal and the reception was at the Bath and Tennis Club, a Palm Beach classic.

Kristy got ready at her parent’s house where she grew up. When I arrived, her niece (the flowergirl) was hard at work

decorating the “Just Married” sign which would grace their getaway car.

My friend Laurie of Laurie B Studios was kind enough to help me out with the wedding and took these next four images.

Towards the end of the evening, the band stopped playing, but the party continued anyway…

Someone produced an iPod and the groom and his groomsmen became the DJs.

Kristy + Carl Part I: The Rehearsal Dinner | Palm Beach Wedding Photographer

I absolutely could not wait to share these images from Kristy and Carl’s rehearsal dinner last night. It was such a fun and unique event and I was so glad that I was there for it.

They had their rehearsal dinner at the National Croquet Center which gave guests the chance to work up an appetite playing croquet before dinner was served. It was a gorgeous cool day and everyone had a great time.

Introducing Baby Ben!

Last week I had the chance to head up to South Carolina to visit our friends Jen and Ryan who had just had a baby. Little Ben was only 13 days old when I met him, making him the youngest baby I’ve ever photographed. He was so tiny and perfect and I had a great time hanging out with him and visiting with his parents.

Thanks Jen and Ryan for such a warm welcome! Congratulations on your baby boy, he is wonderful in every way and I’m sure he’ll grow up to be a Seminole fan just like the rest of us!

Brrrr Bridal Session with Atlanta Photographers | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Today I got to take part in a fun event hosted by a great local group, Atlanta Photog Meetups. It was organized and hosted by Chris and Allie Bartelski of The Reason who had scoped out two awesome locations for us and arranged for three fabulous models for us to shoot. We started at the Starlight Drive In Theater and it was C O L D. I think the temperature today maxed out at 34 degrees, or something ridiculously cold like that.

I’d never taken pictures of models before, but all three of them were so professional and patient. They didn’t complain about the weather one bit, even though all they were wearing was wedding attire while all of us photographers were covered from head to toe in winter clothing. After the Drive In, we went to the Atlanta Prison Farm, an old and abandoned facility that was just as creepy as it sounds. However, it was such a fantastic place for a shoot because it was so unusual and untouched. Part of the building had been burned down recently, so we had to be really careful where we stepped. Of course, being the graceful girl that I am, I stepped on a nail sticking out of a board and it went straight through my shoe. Have no fear, I did not sustain any injuries and I learned to be more careful where I stepped.

I had such a wonderful time today meeting new people and taking pictures. Thanks so much Chris and Allie! It was a blast!

I love my Valentines

Two years ago today Matthew got down on one knee at the top of the Georgian Terrace hotel in Atlanta and after some sweet words (the only ones I remember are “We make a great team” and “I think you know where this is going“) asked me to be his wife. I happily accepted through my tears and laughter and we toasted to our future together.

Now of course, we’re married, and our family has grown to include a new Valentine. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with Maccabee by giving him his very own Valentine’s Day card. We don’t do fancy and crazy Valentine’s Day anymore for a couple of reasons. First, there’s no way Matthew will ever be able to outdo himself after proposing two years ago and second, we show each other we love each other every day and don’t need a special holiday to do so.

Maccabee got a rawhide “card” for him to eat. After all, this is the dog who eats rocks so we figured that we might as well get him something that is actually meant for consumption. It was a big hit! Here are a few shots of our hairy Valentine enjoying his treat.

I hope that all of you and your valentines have a wonderful day enjoying each other’s company! Both of my Valentines are currently passed out in the living room as the Winter Olympics plays in the background.

Our day is simple. Our love is fabulous. Life is good.
