Silver Lake Engagement Pictures | Diana + Greg | Atlanta

When Diana first called me about the possibility of shooting her wedding, I knew she was my kind of girl.

“I’ve done my research on wedding photographers, and I’ve decided that I really like your style and you’re just what I’m looking for in a photographer.  Are you free next March?”

Just like that.

It turned out I was free to shoot her wedding (yay!) and eventually we ended up meeting for the first time over sushi (more bonus points for her!)

I appreciated her straightforwardness, and it reminded me of how I was when I was planning our wedding.

Not surprisingly, our photographer was the first wedding vendor I booked, and I did so without meeting him and before we had a venue.  It may have been unconventional, but it worked!

Sweet as they are smart, Diana just graduated from medical school and Greg is in law school.  We met up this week while they were both in town for graduation and had a great time taking their engagement pictures.

They chose to do engagement pictures along Silver Lake, which is where Diana grew up and where Greg proposed.  It was fun to shoot in a place that was so meaningful to them both.

Greg told me that after they’d been dating for about six months, he knew that one day he’d eventually propose along the path overlooking the lake, and that’s exactly what he did.

Diana told me stories about running along that same path as a cross country runner in high school and how it served as a meeting place for her and her childhood best friend as they scurried back and forth to each others houses.

It was the perfect place to stroll around and we all enjoyed ourselves!

Meet Diana and Greg!

I really like the chalk idea! Very clever. That would be really nice for an album or guest book.

A really relaxed and beautiful set of images Becca. Love the chalk heart idea……I may have to steal that.

+1 on stealing the sidewalk chalk idea. Very creative!! :-)

The best part about the chalk is that it was just laying there on the ground. I guess the neighborhood kids had left it there from the last time they played with it. We were walking past, and I suggested they start drawing…The heart and initials were their idea :)

Fun things happen when you just take the time to be a kid again!

As a wedding photographer myself, I would like to give you my congratulations for the beautiful images!
