Marshall House Wedding | Becky + Matt | Savannah

When I met Becky and Matt at the Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta earlier this year I knew that their wedding would be a blast to photograph.

All along Becky wanted a destination wedding, and after toying with the idea of a tropical wedding, she ended up deciding that Savannah would be the perfect place to get married.

With its historic buildings and graceful old trees, Savannah is certainly a romantic city that lends itself to being a wonderful backdrop for a wedding!  Becky loved the Old South feel of the city and chose to have the ceremony in Lafayette Square so that guests could enjoy the scenery as the two said their vows.

Continuing the Southern flair, Becky arrived to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage accompanied by her father, ring bearer and flower girl.  I also got to ride along in the horse drawn carriage, which thrilled me to no end!  The ride over was a blast, with congratulatory greetings ringing out from every corner we turned.  We passed a restaurant with a bunch of outdoor seating and all of the patrons stood up and clapped for Becky.  It was so sweet.

Following the ceremony we had the chance to get some fun shots of the couple and their bridal party around the square before we rode a trolley down to the cobblestone streets by the water.  After pictures it was time for the reception which was held at the Marshall House in the gorgeous atrium of the hotel’s restaurant, 45 Bistro.

Congratulations to our name twins!!  I’m sure you’re having a wonderful time on your European honeymoon and can’t wait to see pictures when you get home

Becky’s fabulous orange Via Spiga shoes were a nod to her alma mater, the University of Tennessee.

The ring bearer and flower girl were twins and so adorable.  This was the third wedding they’d played the part and were seasoned pros.
